Davide Tognin is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Geosciences, University of Padova. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Hydraulic Engineering in 2015 and 2017, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in Sciences of Civil and Environmental Engineering (cum laude) in 2022 from the University of Padova. In 2021, he has been a visiting scientist at the Department of Geography, Trinity College Dublin. In 2022, he held a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Center for Lagoon Hydrodynamics and Morphodynamics (CIMoLa) - University of Padova.

Combining field measurements, laboratory analysis and numerical modeling, Davide investigates the morphodynamic evolution of tidal systems under climate change and increasing anthropogenic pressure. His research focuses on spatial and temporal dynamics of sediment transport in shallow tidal systems, and in particular on sediment accumulation on salt marshes and the infill of abandoned tidal channels.
