Curriculum vitae

Massimiliano Ghinassi received a Ph.D. at the University of Siena in 2005. In 2007, he became Assistant Professor at the Geoscience Department of the University of Padova, where is Associate Professor since 2015. His main research fields are facies analysis and stratigraphy of siliciclastic systems, with particular emphasis on alluvial and coastal sedimentation. He had several formative field experiences in Norway, Turkey, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Greece, Scotland, England, Spain and the United States. His main research goal is to link evidence from the sedimentary record with modern sedimentary processes, aiming at improving our capability to interpret ancient sedimentary successions.
